RPG Let's Plays

Most of us run into that conversation by now.....

RPG LPs... yes or no?

Well I can only say: definitly yes, but I get the point that some people have.

Some people say that LPing RPGs is boring and none wants to see all those endless battles....
Thats kinda right but still, everyone can LP whatever they want to!


Thats also the biggest thing about the LPF (Let's Play Forum), if you post an RPG LP there you are gonna get butchered!

Erm... well it depends on the sort of RPG tbh

if its like pokemon i dont really care about the trainer battles and the leveling, all i are about is the plot and the gym battles.

Where as with an FF game i care about almost all of it (apart from the grinding).

If its a game like fire emblem, you kinda need to leave it all in just because you need to see all the stuff to do (well apart from abusing the areana)

and finally the action RPg like secret of Evermore, those sorts of games you basically gain all the levels you need going through out the game so there is really nothing to cut out

BUT saying that there is one thing that must be cut out of ALL RPG LPs and that is BACK TRACKING,

no one want to sit there for hours on end watching a person walk back to a place they have already been.

So yeah thats how i think RPGs should be LPed with detail but not too much that i would fall asleep.

With RPG's, it's unfortunate that a large degree of it revolves around consistant training. Which is why I may prefer SRPG's as they seem to need those battles left in more, as that's where the main segment of the game comes in. Fire Emblem for me just seems a lot more fun when it comes to observing general battles. Bar consistant arena battles.

I more think it has to do with who's doing the game If your watching an Lper who you really enjoy they can make even horrible games good as far as rpgs goes if its your style then you will most likely enjoy it you can always cut out random battles but theres no fun in that

You have a point in that the way LPer's approach a game is what makes up a large degree of the fun. Why I enjoy whatching people play bad things so much.

yes sages i wanna be the guy is much fun and I will be doing things like that as well XD

I more like playing games I enjoy rather than ones I hate but If i can give good reactions to the game if its crap makes it more fun like Kikoskia lol

I'd have to say no...and I think I may get some slack for this..but IMO RPG's are really boring the only ones that look interesting are the Secret OF Mana Games and KH and Pokemon (it's a RPG ) ....but other than that most of the RPG's are overrated *coughs* FFVII *Coughs*....and really don't make you feel in control..

You cant take FF7 as an example for RPGs being overrated.... FF7 is like the essence of overatedness doesnt have much to do with RPGs

me, I love the Megami Tensei series, with the "look at that tower...LET'S CLIMB IT" logic, only complaint about the series though, is half the time you don't know what the fudge you are doing. but apart from that Megami Tensei series RULES...now come to think about it, Megami Tensei was made but ATLUS, and well, most good RPGs are made by ATLUS Dokapon, all the megami tensei series, the trauma centre series, Crusader of Centy (awesome game), robopon games, Yggdra Union and many more AWESOME game


thus i conclude that ATULS is far more superior than Square/SquareSoft/Square Enix or what ever they call themselves a few month or years down the line, for me it'll always be square
